A couple of friends of mine sailed their small sail boat to Cobb Island, a small barrier island off the coast of Virginia. They camped on the shore for the night and later brought back a snapshot of this old life saving station. I sketched the building just as it stood in 1983 from the snapshot. The original sketch went to the sailors leaving me with 100 limited edition prints. You can read more about the history of Cobb Island by going to this link. I think you will find it quite interesting. http://books.google.com/books?id=GwkOHkZHWaMC&pg=PA25&lpg=PA25&dq=cobb+island+station&source=web&ots=-hGvgR8bfp&sig=1qB-js8v_GvUOtPqFzq3KCQ6tNw#PPA25,M1

New Jersey Barn detail
I found this barn on a hill near Princeton, New Jersey. At the time I did not realize how much country there was in New Jersey. There were many small farms in the outlying areas that needed to be sketched but I only had time for a few.
